While the Apple iPhone is still not ready with a release date for China, Dell has quietly slipped in the company’s first smartphone — its Mini 3i, announcing the phone as a China only model. The phone that will have China Telecom as its carrier runs on the Open Mobile System based on Google’s Android OS and has a full haptic QWERTY keyboard.

It has a 3.5-inch capacitive screen with 360 x 640 resolution and a 3MP camera on the rear. Predictably, the device lacks WiFi but is still decent with EDGE connectivity, microSD card slot, Bluetooth and a 950mAH battery. The 3MP camera is complete with autofocus, 8X zoom, flash and video recording.
The phone could have done well with a fully functional version of the Android connectivity beyond the 2GS, but it still remains a good option for China. All we’re looking for right now is a price leak …
