T-Mobile has quietly announced a 3G-enabled handset bearing the company’s badge — the Samsung T659. We are clueless about what the name implies and rightfully so as it’s a fairly ordinary phone featuring 3G ability.

The new Samsung T659 comes with basic necessities, such as a 2megapixel camera, support for a microSD card up to 16GB, Bluetooth, AGPS and in-built RSS reader. It comes with a Li-ion battery which is good enough for 5 hours of talk time and 12.5 days of standby time. Picture messaging and Stereo Bluetooth wireless technology are the only highlights other than the 3G capability.

The slider manages to get more speed than it would ever require given the kind of features it comes with. T-Mobile is offering this phone right away for $69.99 on a contract after a $50mail-in-rebate and an instant discount of $80. The discounted price will also fetch a hands free headset.

Although we’re facing with a recession, the folks over at the FCC have just approved a couple of handsets which will soon be hitting shelves in the US. The first one is the Nokia 3710a and the second is probably (not certainly though) the Motorola Morrison.

The new Nokia 3710a is derivative of the Nokia 3710 and it comes with a 3.2MP camera on the rear. Talk about the operating system, the Nokia 3710a is based on the Series S40 platform which assures that this isn’t a smartphone, however the highlight of the phone is the concealed external display and the 3G capability.

Second on the list is Motorola Morrison (aka Motorola T56KV1), or at least that’s what people talk about. No word regarding the specs sheet, because Motorola has been well guised. All we know is that it comes with WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G …

I never thought BlackBerry will actually come up with a flipping smartphone, but they proved me wrong. The new BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 officially arrived with great features like Bluetooth 2.0, built-in multimedia player, 802.11b/g WiFi and a large SureType keypad, a 320 x 240 internal display and only weighing 3.6-ounces.

Some of the best things about the new Pearl Flip 8220 include exceptional voice quality, Speaker Independent Voice Recognition (SIVR) for Voice Activated Dialing (VAD) and a removable/rechargeable 900 mAhr battery that will keep it working for 4 (four) hours of talking and 14 (fourteen) hours in stand-by.

Don’t worry about those little accessories, the new Pearl Flip 8220 will also include a variety of accessories including a stereo headset, travel charger and USB cable.

It’s going to be available this fall (no exact date yet) exclusively on T-Mobile, for an unknown price.

Yes, it’s true Sony Ericsson TM506 is the first HSDPA cellphone on T-Mobile, and yes it’s on sale as you read. It’s the first time T-Mobile gets the scoop out and screams that they have a 3G capable mobile phone but that’s mainly because their 3G network has had the softest launch in mobile history.

Is that a good thing? Time will tell, but I’m pretty sure launched earlier they would’ve had much more clients in the long run, but who am I to teach them business.

But back to our Sony Ericsson TM506 it features a 2-megapixel cam, has TeleNav navigation and stereo Bluetooth, an M2 Memory Stick slot and Instant Messaging. Though it may not be the best we’ve seen the price I’ve heard for that one is close to $79.99 after rebate on contract.

So, will you go on T-Mobile’s 3G network now that we have the TM506 there?

Did you know which is going to be the first HSDPA handset that comes to T-Mobile. Yes you’re smart and you already know it from the title. It’s the new 3G Sony Ericsson TM506, that will be available from September at “select T-Mobile retail stores and online.”

The specs of the “two-megabyte flip-phone” may not be impressive but they’re good overall:

dual-band UMTS/HSDPA

a 2-megapixel camera

tri-band GSM

3G connectivity

Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP

microSD slot

GPS on-board

Video recording

support for streaming video and audio, IM

Too bad we don’t have a price yet. My bet is on a bargain, what do you think?

It’s already approved by the FCC and the specs sheet tells us that it has WCDMA on 1700MHz band but Samsung and T-Mobile are still continuing their policy of totally downplaying AWS 3G in new handsets.

Other than that, the new Samsung T819 comes is a quad-band EDGE cellular phone with a 220 x 176 display, has a 1.3 megapixel camera and stereo Bluetooth. The phone also has a microSD card slot in case you need to store your data. It’s available as you read on T-Mobile.

After a long long time with lots of rumors, T-Mobile came out and confirmed with an official announcement their newest sliding smartphone, HTC Shadow, which will go for sale Wednesday, October 31st. It’s running on a modified Windows Mobile 6 with an interface skin that keeps the user away from seeing the real face of WM6.

Too bad it doesn’t have a touchscreen display, but it has other things to brag with. A SureType QWERTY keyboard with smart word prediction technology and a comfortable wheel for all the navigation. If you like the looks of the new HTC Shadow (I do) and agree to sign a T-Mobile voice plan for two years you get it for $150 and data is an additional $20 each month. If you only need voice, then you should pay $200.
